In 2004, NBC developed the "Most Profitable Manufacturing (MPM)" method, enabling low-cost and efficient response to the ever-increasing needs of "short-leadtime," "small-lot, multiple-model" production, in line with the expansion of its business domains. This method satisfies customer needs through speedier production and cost reduction, based on Kanban-based order placing and taking, supported by the production management system (SMSS) enabling information sharing and smooth communication between NBC and co-producers, as well as a coating production base in the cell-production system. It is CCM (Computer Color Matching) that enabled standardization of "Color Matching" work. Especially, "Liquid CCM (Computer color matching equipment for coating liquid)" can measure color quickly in the state of liquid paint. Since work is done by computer it excels in repeatability, and makes it simpler to produce the same color paint as frequently as wanted. Successful results have been reported by domestic and overseas plants. Strengthening of the quality assurance system is NBC's management project. In fact, quick action has been taken: the certification of the ISO9001, International Standard of quality assurance has been acquired basing on the NBC's own "QA System" that had already been functioning to support low cost/high performance/high quality. Presently, we are tackling for improving quality assurance system.
